Old Ladoga Dormition convent is located 12 miles from the County town of Novaya Ladoga, mentioned in historical documents of the XV century. Totally renewed in 1619 after the Swedish massacre. The main attraction of the monastery is completely preserved in the Cathedral of the assumption, where there are two miraculous icons: the Dormition of the Theotokos and the great Martyr Barbara.
