Tomer Savoia: “Thanks to the rain, I managed to seep to the site”

A newly appeared Internet celebrity, the Brazilian guest of the current football festival came to the St. Petersburg FIFA Fan Festival™ and shared his impressions of the city, of Russia and of how much he wanted to get to the Konyushennaya Square

- Generally it's so surprising and so unusual that I became known here in Russia, even under such circumstances, - Tomer, dressed in the colors of his national team, began talking with pleasure. - If being honest with you, before the tournament, both my friends and I were very skeptical about the trip to Russia. We thought that people here would be angry, closed ... In fact, everything is absolutely the opposite. Well, except for a few drivers of a Moscow taxi (laughs). In St. Petersburg, I generally do not go by taxi; I'm just given a lift all the way. And when they began to offer me not to pay for dinner ... well, in general, this all looks like complete madness. The weather here blows your mind: you go out into the street – it is sunny, in an hour – there is a downpour, then sunny again, and then there is the wind.

- Well, this is the “brand name” of the city.

- Oh, yes, I'm already used to it! The other day I went to "Scarlet Sails", this is an incredible show. I was presented a ticket to get closer to the water. It's just fantastic. Amazing, very, very, very beautiful! "Kra-si-va", so it will be in Russian, right?

- Exactly. However, in the famous movie you made, you used a more expressive form of the word.

- My Russian friends are to be blamed. Since the moment I arrived, I started to write a dictionary. Even before the moment of glory, well, you understand. I collect expressions, vivid emotions. And that is one of the variations of a positive word!

- In Russia, there is a popular film about a student-philologist who travels to the Caucasus to collect traditions and expressions. Everything ends funny for him there.

- I have to watch it!

- You, too, obviously enjoy everything that is happening.

- Oh, it’s incredible! To be honest, getting to the FIFA Fan Festival™ in St. Petersburg was a real challenge for me. I did come several times and was not able to get inside because it was filled up! Thanks to the rain, I managed to seep to the site. It's worth it!

- You have so many bright emotions. Enough to support not only Brazil?

- Yes, now I will cheer for FC “Rostov” in Russia. They play in the same colors as our team, and because it all started for me there.

- What about the most popular team in the country, which comes from St. Petersburg?

- Oh, FC “Zenit”! Yes, I follow them. Hulk played here! Op, davai-davai! Rossiya, vpered! I davai, Brazil!
