The shift took place the last span of the bridge under construction in range of Yacht street

December 20 the solemn ceremony joining two parts construction transport-pedestrian bridge with access on Krestovsky island in range of Yacht street. The event was attended by Vice-Governor Igor Albin, Chairman of the Committee on transport infrastructure development Sergey Hareskin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Pilon" - the contractor leading the work on the site

The length of the bridge is 490 meters, the need for its construction arose in preparation of the infrastructure of St. Petersburg to the events of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and world Cup 2018 FIFA world Cup Russia™. The facility will provide access of spectators to the stadium from the seaside area, as well as the connection's residential quarters to the territories of leisure and recreation on Krestovsky island. The project implementation will have a positive impact on the functioning of the sports cluster of the entire Krestovsky island – the initiators of the project.

The site is built on resources of members of the builders Association for promoting the development of transport and sports infrastructure "open space", created in April 2016. Members of the Association are OAO "Metrostroy", JSC "Pylon", JSC "ABZ-Dorstroy", CJSC "VAD", ZAO "PO Vozrozhdenie. On completion, the bridge will be transferred to the Association in the gift of St. Petersburg.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Pilon", Mevlude Bliadze reported to the Vice-Governor on the progress of the project.

The number of workers involved on the construction site is 196 people per day, construction equipment – 53 units. JSC "Pilon" completed preparatory work, constructed of monolithic reinforced concrete retaining wall made with the construction of the supports 12 are performed works on installation of the cornice blocks, painting of steel constructions, installation of granite South of the ramp, the device of local treatment facilities and storm sewer on Krestovsky island and Yacht building Upon completion of construction of the Primorsky district plans to install a commemorative sign depicting a soccer ball on the crest of a wave.

After inspecting the progress of construction works on the subject in the presence of the crowd assembled last span unit connecting part of the bridge under construction.

Vice-Governor Igor Albin noted that the bridge in the alignment of Yacht street, one of the eight objects that the city is preparing in the framework of the organization and activities of FIFA in 2017 and 2018, he said: "Association of builders "open space" has expressed readiness to implement this project without funding from the city budget. City funds in the amount of 36 million rubles was spent only on preparation and the total cost of construction is about 2 billion rubles."

The Vice-Governor spoke to bridge builders and noted that the company "Pilon" is one of the best organizations in the industry not only in the North-West region, but across the country.

A new bridge facility will be ready to host test events in April 2017 the working traffic on the bridge is planned to start by June 1, 2017 fully construction work including the installation of external lighting and architectural highlighting, landscaping and beautification will be completed by December 2017. The new bridge will be the longest and tallest pedestrian bridge in St. Petersburg.
