St. Petersburg Center of training of City Volunteers is opened

More than 3,000 residents of Petersburg have already applied

Youth policy of St. Petersburg in recent years has reached a new level of quality and every year realizes a number of programs aimed at the development of youth potential.

Thus, with the support of the Committee on youth policy and interaction with public organizations, Monday, January 23, was officially opened the training Center volunteers of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and the world Cup FIFA 2018 in Russia™.

The work of the Centre city volunteers involves selecting and training volunteers for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and world Cup 2018 FIFA world Cup Russia™ in Saint-Petersburg. During those tournaments, the selected candidates will assist in the 9 functional areas: tourist information service, transport, navigation, Festival fans FIFA, medicine, ticketing program, entertainment program, managing volunteers, managing objects.

In the opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Committee on youth policy and interaction with public organizations Renata Abdulina, Chairman of the Committee for physical culture and sports Pavel Belov, Member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Artem Turov, Ambassador of the Host City St. Petersburg Gennady Orlov.

According to the Chairman of the Committee on the youth policy Renata Abdulina today filed 3,000 applications from those wishing to become city volunteers.

"Deadline in the city's volunteers is still ongoing, all staff of the Centre will select only 1000 volunteers. They all have to meet certain requirements, among which the main one is the knowledge of foreign languages," said Abdulina.

Chairman of the Committee for physical culture and sports Pavel Belov, in turn, noted that the opening of the training Centre of City volunteers is an important event in preparation for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.

"This is a significant event for our city. I would like to congratulate all the volunteers that now they have their own Playground, which will be active and wish them only positive emotions from the activity in future tournaments," - said Belov.

At the end of the meeting Gennady Orlov thanked the volunteers for their initiative and desire to be part of one big team and wished success and as a symbol of the Center signed the official soccer ball of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 - Krasava.
