Stadium on Krestovsky island was officially commissioned

Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko visited the new stadium on Krestovsky island. The construction of the stadium is complete.

The decree of St. Petersburg on December 29 issued a permit for the commissioning.

Georgy Poltavchenko examined the bowl of the stadium, the stands, the control center, locker rooms, and other facilities. The Governor also showed how the mechanism draw-out field.

The new stadium, ZSD (Western Rapid Diameter), under construction near Lakhta center is shaping a new image of St. Petersburg, sea front, appearance of the 21st century. I want to thank our St. Petersburg builders and, primarily, "Metrostroy", which in the most difficult moment picked up the building and gave us this beauty," said the Governor.

Georgy Poltavchenko said that now is conducted active work on the adaptation of the stadium to host the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. "The completion allows us to work quietly on the adaptation of the stadium to the requirements of FIFA and UEFA," he said. To start the competition in front of the stadium in the security framework will be built area of access control. He also noted that all comments and complaints Commission FIFA is working.

The Governor said that the builders adhere to the estimates, which was approved by Glavgosexpertiza and submitted to the project adjustments. The final cost will be announced after the completion of all work. The Governor stressed that the money spent on the construction of the stadium, have supported domestic producers. "Only about 4 billion rubles – for the purchase of foreign equipment and foreign materials. Everything else is of Russian origin. This is a significant investment in the economy of our country. 4.5 billion rubles from the construction of the stadium received a Federal budget in the form of VAT.

After the registration of the ownership of the city built the stadium it is planned to transfer in concession of FC "Zenit".
